Since 1978, NIPM has been conducting the academic programme conferring the Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, supported by its professional network and standing in the field of Human Resources.

Professional HR education with national relevance
In view of its emphasis on professional excellence and wide network throughout the country, the Government of India and almost all states look at NIPM as a body of experts in Human Resources.
Candidates should be graduates from a recognized University or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% marks in the degree examination.
The 50% requirement may be waived for Honours or Master's degree holders, candidates with 3 years' HR experience, candidates with 5 years' industry experience, or professionally qualified Chartered / Cost / CS / Management Accountants.
PGDPM is recognized by the Government of India for recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government and by several State Governments for recruitment of Welfare Officers.
It is also recognized by the Universities of Bihar, Andhra and Kerala as equivalent to Master's Degree.
Prospectus including application forms is available from the National Office by sending a Demand Draft for ₹550/- including postage, drawn in favour of National Institute of Personnel Management-DPM Trust, payable at Kolkata.
Prospectus is also available from NIPM Kerala office against payment of ₹500/- in cash.
Fees & Examination
Clear payment and examination structure
Course Fee
Total course fee for two years is ₹18,000/- in one-time payment along with the application form, or ₹10,000/- each in two installments with six months interval.
Examination Fee
The examination fee is ₹200/- for each paper. Examination fee and course fee once paid will neither be refunded nor transferred under any circumstances.
Registration Validity
The registration of a candidate shall remain valid for five years. Candidates may take failed or back papers with fresh papers of the subsequent semester by paying prescribed fees.
Syllabus
Four-semester learning path
Each written paper carries 100 marks and has an examination duration of 3 hours. The final semester includes Research Project Paper and Viva Voce Test.

PGDPM examination calendar
The medium of examination is English only. Viva voce is normally held in March and October, and guidelines for preparing the Research Project Paper are available in the prospectus.
